Our Ministries

SUNDAY

9:00 AM FAMILY BIBLE SCHOOL for all ages birth through adult.  We offer a fully graded and systematic ministry of Bible studies during this hour including several adult small group studies.

10:15 AM WORSHIP.  Our Morning Worship Services use a blend of traditional and contemporary music, prayer and Bible reading to encourage a meaningful worship experience.  Most importantly all worship services are focused on the practical preaching and application of the Bible, the Word of God (Romans 10:17).  During these services a well planned optional Children's Church is held for all Preschool and Kindergarten children.

6:00 PM PRAISE SERVICE. This hour each Sunday evening is filled with a variety of ministries. Most of the services are filled with uplifting Praise music that leads to a time of Bible Study, taught by Pastor Lanzen. Many special guest speakers, missionaries and programs are also planned throughout the year including concerts by local and well known Christian artists and college groups.

 

WEDNESDAY

6:20 PM WORD OF LIFE GOPHER BUDDIES AND OLYMPIAN CLUBS.  Our Gopher Buddies (Preschool-Kindergarten), and Olympian Clubs (Grades 1-6) meet year around for singing, games, crafts, and Bible lessons that help our children learn about their need for God as their savior and also gain a good foundation for living a life that is pleasing to God. 

6:20 PM FUSION for all Teenagers.  Between the months of September and May we enjoy one of the most dynamic youth ministries in the area.   Every week our teens enjoy singing, games, sharing and Bible study. The ministry is organized around the Word Of Life Clubs ministry (Schroon Lake, NY) which helps teens form godly habits in their daily lives.  Over the summer months our teens meet weekly for informal Bible study and various fun and community service activities.

6:30 PM FAMILY BIBLE STUDY AND PRAYER MEETING.  We gather as a church family to study God's Word in a more relaxed, devotional atmosphere and to pray for the needs of our church family, missionaries, nation and world.  At times various elective studies like parenting classes, financial classes and others are also offered to help meet some of the specific needs of God’s people.

 

OTHER MINISTRIES

COUNSELING MINISTRY.  First Baptist offers counseling services to those who are seeking Biblical answers to the situations and needs they face each day.  The entire Pastoral Staff and several Lay Staff Counselors have been trained in Biblical Counseling and area available for concentrated, encouraging and helpful evaluation of personal needs and Biblical answers.  Our counselors all serve under the oversight and guidance of Pastor Lanzen, who is a Level II Certified Counselor with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) out of Indianapolis, Indiana.  The counseling offered at First Baptist is voluntary and free of charge to the counselee.

BIBLE STUDIES.   Each week several Men’s and Women’s small group Bible studies meet for fellowship and the encouragement of discussing God’s Word together.  Contact the church office for Bible study topics, times and locations.

KEEP JOY.  This phone in ministry provides the caller with a brief encouraging devotional thought taken from past issues of the Our Daily Bread Devotional, (by special agreement with Radio Bible Class, Grand Rapids, MI), and produced by Pastor Jim Shrock.  Dial 574-KEEPJOY (574-533-7569) for encouragement from God's Word.

VARIOUS OTHER MINISTRIES.  Throughout the year various concerts, conferences, retreats, socials, outings, athletic fellowships, and other activities are planned. Contact the church for more information concerning these special activities.

SPECIAL NOTES: A modern fully equipped nursery led by a lay staff registered nurse is available for all regular and most special services. First Baptist is fully accessible to the physically challenged and is equipped to assist the hearing impaired. During every service trained emergency medical personnel are in the building and equipment is available to meet just about any emergency medical need.
